Hurricane Updates for Westminster Palms

Westminster Palms and Westminster Communities of Florida are closely monitoring Hurricane Idalia, and our top priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and team members. We are actively planning and preparing for the storm and are taking all necessary precautions. We will provide updates as they become available and throughout the storm.

  • As you are aware, Westminster Palms has been closely monitoring the developments of Hurricane Idalia over the past few days. We are sharing an update regarding our hurricane-preparedness plans and the latest information we have received from the emergency management team in Pinellas County.

The authorities in Pinellas County have changed our community from Zone A to Zone B, and therefore it is not mandatory to evacuate. Westminster Palms is now actively planning and preparing to shelter in place during the storm.

While we can never predict the exact course of a hurricane, the information we have received indicates that the risk in our immediate vicinity has diminished, and our safety is not as compromised as initially thought.

Please be assured that our decision has been made in consultation with the experts and emergency management officials who are well-versed in these matters. The safety of our residents remains our top priority, and we are taking every precaution to ensure their well-being during this challenging time.

We will continue to follow the recommendations of the National Hurricane Center and local emergency management authorities, and will update with any new developments.

  • We continue to monitor the course of Tropical Storm Idalia and follow the guidance of the National Hurricane Center and National Weather Service. At this time, it is unclear what the impact will be or whether our community will be impacted. Please know that we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure safety. We will provide updates as our plans develop and the storm’s track becomes clearer.

Our team members are working hard and following their emergency preparedness plans. As part of that plan, we will be providing ongoing updates as appropriate. Please help us with this effort by calling us only as needed.
